Our main studio is in the Heart of Newcastle, a place dedicated to the art of Dreadlocks and Hair Creativity. Its where all the magic begins , where clients come to have Dreadlocks installed and cared for but also people come to learn the art of loc’in Hair.

Here we offer all things Dreadlocks, washing, installing, maintenance, Human Hair, Wool and Synth Locs, extensions, permanent or temporary. Our specialty is in repairing if you have a problem with your locs we are confident that we can fix almost anything.

We pride myself on making dreadlocks with love, care and professionalism. Your Journey here with us is nourishing and full of simple advice. We are happy to hold your hand whilst your Locs develop and mature. ….

Our method is to get the best out of every hair type, quality and style. Using only a crochet hook, comb and hands. No Chemicals or waxes are used in this process, just a perfect method which I am proud to call a BCDreads Crochet Stitching Method.

 Wool Dreads

If your looking for extensions, colour, texture and fun these are really your answer. Wool Locs are amazingly luxurious soft and weightless.

They can be added in numerous ways and last a long time in fact they mature just like true dreads and look more and more authentic.

Wool Locs love to be washed and yes whilst wet can seem heavy but unlike all other dreads one can ‘wring’ them out till almost dry.

Applications are numerous extensions crocheted into the end of your dreadlocks, braided in as a temporary wear or used as a thickener and added to the root base.

The only maintenance required is to the join area when used as extensions at the 8-12 month mark to the join area. Where we simply and quickly felt more wool into the join area for a sturdy result.

The picture below, a braid in loc shows an instant change in three hours with absolutely no commitment and worn for two months.
