Our main studio is in the Heart of Newcastle, a place dedicated to the art of Dreadlocks and Hair Creativity. Its where all the magic begins , where clients come to have Dreadlocks installed and cared for but also people come to learn the art of loc’in Hair.

Here we offer all things Dreadlocks, washing, installing, maintenance, Human Hair, Wool and Synth Locs, extensions, permanent or temporary. Our specialty is in repairing if you have a problem with your locs we are confident that we can fix almost anything.

We pride myself on making dreadlocks with love, care and professionalism. Your Journey here with us is nourishing and full of simple advice. We are happy to hold your hand whilst your Locs develop and mature. ….

Our method is to get the best out of every hair type, quality and style. Using only a crochet hook, comb and hands. No Chemicals or waxes are used in this process, just a perfect method which I am proud to call a BCDreads Crochet Stitching Method.

Dreadlock Extensions

We use high quality Human Hair or Wool to make our extension. They can be purchased and sent to you or you can have them installed in our studio. We always ask you to come in for a colour consultation so we can achieve the perfect match. We tend to blend our hair and use multiple colours to achieve the perfect natural look.

Or with our Wool extensions we have a huge option of colours and love the colour match challenge when dying our wools. All colours are possible so let the mind go wild!

For Human Hair we prefer to make them on the hair so each DreadLock fits perfectly, please see time lapse. This way of installing will take much longer around 6 hours and sometimes two sittings will be needed but it’s our preferred method for high quality work.

PLEASE NOTE : if we are adding extension of any kind to existing Dreadlocks or swapping out wool for real or vise verse please insure the old extensions are removed and the ends of your dreadlocks brushed out to atleast 3 inches.

In store : come in for a free colour consult as we have a handy in store card where we take measurements and colour match, also a good time to hear all your wants and worries answered. We will send you a quote via our POS system if you want to go ahead simply hit accept button and pay for the hair cost. Once paid we will order the hair and get it shipped to us. Hair will take 4 weeks to arrive

Online - shipping to you : please send an email with a few head shots, desired length and maybe some colour choices and inspiration pictures. We can start our discussions there and work through your dreadlock dreams. A quote will be sent to your email. We will make up your Extensions and ship them to you for your own tec or self installation.
